Type: Orquesta Típica

Genre: Argentine Tango

Country: Argentina

A studio orchestra created by the Victor label in 1925, it became one of the most refined and musically accomplished tango ensembles of its time, without ever performing live. Under Adolfo Carabelli's direction, it set standards for instrumental excellence and stylistic polish. Carabelli’s classical training brought structure and sophistication, often recruiting top musicians like Petrucelli, Ortiz, Vardaro, and Puglisi. The orchestra explored tango, waltzes, foxtrots, rancheras, and more, and later adapted to commercial needs with a broader repertoire and prominent vocalists.
