~1956 (Demare retires from the orchestra to play solo piano) Lucio Demare, a romantic and expressive pianist and composer, founded his own orchestra in the early 1940s after previous success in Europe with the trio Irusta-Fugazot-Demare. His tango orchestra, elegant and emotive, became renowned for the intimate interplay between piano and voice, especially with Raúl Berón. Demare rarely changed musicians, forming a close-knit and coherent sound.
