Immediately after graduating from music school as a pianist, Ilya began studying double bass at the Kurgan Regional Music College named after Shostakovich. In 2006, he was admitted to the Academic Music College at the Moscow Conservatory named after Tchaikovsky, where he studied under Professor M.N. Kekshoev.

In 2009, Ilya continued his education at the Moscow State Conservatory, also named after Tchaikovsky, remaining under the guidance of Professor Kekshoev. During his time at the Conservatory, he was actively involved in concert performances, both as a soloist and as a member of chamber ensembles.

During this period, Ilya was invited to join the renowned chamber orchestra Moskovia, led by People’s Artist of the USSR, conductor Eduard Grach. He also took part in masterclasses with internationally respected professors, including Klaus Trumpf (Germany), Thomas Martin (UK), Catalin Rotaru (USA), Horacio Cabarcos (Argentina), and Daniel Falasca (Argentina).

Ilya has been performing with Solo Tango Orquesta since February 2011.
