Froilán Aguilar was a guitarist, lyricist, and composer. He began performing in Montevideo, lived briefly in Buenos Aires, and returned to Uruguay in 1926. In the 1940s, he also performed as a classical guitar soloist. He was the brother of José María Aguilar and worked as a guitarist on Montevideo radio stations.
