The orquesta was founded to faithfully recreate the refined, lyrical style of Miguel Caló and Osmar Maderna, with a strong emphasis on musical elegance, melodic phrasing, and sophisticated arrangements. It follows the classical instrumentation of the 1940s orquesta típica, consisting of four bandoneons, four violins, piano, contrabass, and a vocalist. The arrangements were transcribed directly from original recordings due to the lack of preserved written scores.
